Time is passing, i have not decided yet, which path is best for my life? there is lots of energy in human's soul and mind. all you need to do is to orient it, give it a direction, find a path to follow, a path which is best for you. i keep thinking and thinking,,

i have always been interested in "knowledge and science". so i can use my life in knowledge field. one good point about it is that it never comes to an end, there are always new things to learn, and it is challenging enough to satisfy an ambitious person like me.

Here it comes the question, "Science" is such a general word and can come in variety of fields: Mathematics, engineering, medical, psychology, social, etc. can i learn all of them? sure nobody can enter all of these fields deeply as we have short lives.

I often come to that conclusion as well. There's so much to know, so much to read, and so little time. It used to bother me at times, but I realized that I don't need to know everything. As you said it correctly, there is energy in the human spirit and all we need to do is direct it. I will learn as much as I can on the way.
P.S. I am really impressed by how well people in Iran write in English. Did you go to some special school for English, or do they actually teach English that well in schools?

Bonjour Fatema,

As to the quest for knowledge, let me tell you an old joke about engineers.

They learn more and more about less and less till he/she knows everything about nothing.

You might be interested to hear that right now, there are more than ten thousand jobs open for engineers and scientists in Germany.

I know what u say. I've worked in Iran for 3 years. I think it's wasting your time So keep learning may satisfy you. But if you can try to stand on your feet and follow your dreams. It's the best way but also the toughest one.
You can choose:
Be regular, with regular job, salary , life,...
or make it different by risk.

Hi fatimah,
I am an Iranian girl just like you who came to US to continue studies a few years ago. I accidently came to your weblog.
I am more practicing muslim than you are, I guess! But I agree that religion should be something seperate from the government and everyone should follow it on his/her own way and that is when it will help you raise your spirt.

I am on the same track!. The most important question bothering me is whether I should come back to Iran or Not?,...

On your case, I agree, try feeding your spirit with knowledge with the goal of becoming a more complete person. Its not important what path you take... Just remember that the sole goal of our presence in this Universe is to develop our spirits, since we will have to leave the rest and go !

well, good luck with your taughts,

Blogger Iran Survey 2008 online! said...

Dear Iranian girl, just imagine, all Iranians could express their opinion about the political and cultural situation in our country publicly and online. Not tomorrow or in a few years, but right now.

My name is Schahram Schamsawary, I am a Facial Surgeon living in Germany. I have started a short survey about Iranian´s attitude towards politics concerning our homecountry. We Iranians have vivid discussions about our own, but do we really know, what iranians think? What do they think about about religion, democracy, the revolution, what do they wish in the future? Do Iranians in Iran have different opinions about these topics compared to those outside of Iran? When I visited Iran in 2003 , I put pictures of young people, especially from young woman online (with the friendly support of Iranian.com:www.iranian.com/Arts/2004/August/Dress/index.html) to draw peoples attention to the young people´s and woman´s situation. The more positive resonance was amazing, so I decided to go ahead with this second project.

Let me tell you a few words about who I am and about my intention. In my view Iranians are more democratic than any other people in the middle east. I think, that the media in Europe pay nearly no attention to that fact. So it is us, that we have to draw the media´s attention to that fact. It is not enough to keep this information between us. So what we should have are numbers and facts. This is why I decided to start this big survey. The more Iranians take part, the more we can do for us. Please notice, that I neither belong to a political party or organization nor I want to belong to any of them. I am working on this project alone, I belong to the free iranian network community as you. Please move this message forward to everyone you know, in the world and especially in Iran, who would take part.

I am inviting all Iranians to take part to find out, what we really wish for Iran. If I could convince you, please click on:

http://home.tiscali.de/iranpars/ or the direct path to the survey:

For Iranians outside of Iran:

http://www.befrager.de/befragung.aspx?projekt=4460

For Iranians in inside of Iran:

http://www.befrager.de/befragung.aspx?projekt=4482

The first results will be published in 8 weeks.

Thank you very much, for taking part,

Schahram Schamsawary

Hello,

I'm from India and just wanted to know something. Are women in Iran allowed to participate in the government? and if not, is there something happening for that? cause after rading that there are more than 50% female students I doubt if government may come back to its old decisions of putting women back in homes.

Anyways it's just a thought. Just hope nothing such happens and liberation of women takes place by leaps and bounds.

Amen.

Hi,

Alternative to "Twitter" to Communicate to and from Iran

If you are in the USA or any other country and the Government of Iran is blocking your "Tweets" from Twitter...I have another solution, that works just like "Twitter"...but should be 'under the radar' of the Iranian Government (at least for now).

Its brand new...and is almost exactly like Twitter...but really better.

You can sign up for a FREE account...and contact your family and friends in Iran...to sign up for a free account also...this way you can communicate with them...just like you would do using Twitter.

I hope this helps...as I know many people in Iran and here in the USA and around the world do not support the current government of Iran,

The recent images coming from Iran show a more defiant Green Movement. No longer are the dissidents passively protesting, but they are fighting back - setting fires, turning official vehicles, freeing fellow demonstrators who have been arrested and even beating police officers and militiamen.

In a change in strategy, the Iranian government is more openly reporting on the clashes - perhaps to show that they are becoming more violent in an attempt to discredit the movement.

Hello,
We present our site

Have a look to
www.islam-documents.org

(which is the improvment of the other islam-documents.com, once based in Tunisia).

There is thousands of texts (around 20 000) about the origins of islam, with a critical, humanist, democratic and scientific view (and even ironical). It is now the bigger "sourcebook" on that subject, with often unpublished documents: Muhammad biographies (SIRA), the main books of traditions (HADITH) , muslim chronicles (TABARI...), companions biographies (TABAQAT), quranic verses, quranic commentaries (TAFSIR).7

A new version is now available, improved and corrected: around 3700 pages. We are working for a new version published every year.

All is in french. so sorry. but you need to read it to understand muslim thinking and acts. It is a rare opportunity to reach genuine information from islamic doctrinal texts.

Now, you won’t tell again: we just don’t know…

Bye. Take care.

Addressing the first paragraph:I can't begin to tell you how much I have thought about the exact same thing. There is so much potential and creativity and ability contained within the human being, just harvested there, waiting to explode out. We are all given the tools and minds and souls to do great things in this world, but I constantly get the feeling that potential is never actually reached. How do you know what path you are to follow in order to accomplish what you are meant to do? Success is controlled (of course) by hard work and determination, but I feel that it also has a lot to do with chance circumstances and opportunities. What if I miss my chances? What if I never find the path I am meant to follow? Time is passing. Sometimes I feel like I'm doing nothing with my time. Nothing - and all the energy and potential stored somewhere within me is just hidden away, unreachable.

Greetings and salutations!
This is my first attempt at contacting anyone through a blog let alone Iran. I am an English/ Psychology student in America. This semester I received the privilege to attend a course on topics in comparative literature with a focus on Iran (absolutely mind-altering on so many levels for myself). I wanted to respond to your most recent post in hopes of starting dialogue with someone I can discuss what I am learning in class that has firsthand knowledge. How wonderful that the first post I read is about the love of knowledge or what I like to refer to as the search for wisdom. To answer your question with my own opinion on this matter, life is meant to surprise you. You, I and We are not alone. Wisdom is acquired through time and experience and we all have our areas of expertise. The people you choose to associate with should support and progress your own thoughts. Thus, through others you grow in strength as a unit and as a community. Whatever field of science you choose to follow should be a path chosen by you that benefits your circle however large or small it may be. Other fields you have interest in will always be available to you through your associations and contributions to them via your expertise. It’s been a pleasure.

Dear Fatema,

I like to read the posts on your blog. It was so interesting what you said about science, politics, life and the future of Iran.
Today red again what you posted June 2005, i.e. more than 6 years ago (and it still applies to the current situation in the middle east):

---------------------------
-And the West -Europe, America etc. How do you feel about them?
i dont expect anything from western countries. im old enough not to believe stories about starting war with a country in order to help its people.

------

It is really a pitty that you stoped to write any more in 2007. There are millions of blogs out there, which report about cooking/eating/shopping/cosmetics, and they run on and on and on.

Too bad that somebody who had really something intelligent and entertaining to say ended its blog without any obvious reason.
(But maybe you have just been tired from removing day by day these spam-comments from your blog).

Thanks anyway for the stories and reflections you posted in the past.
